what kind of woman are you?

Happy Friday! here’s the thought of the day….
“Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the floor each morning the devil says….
“Oh Crap, She’s up!”

let’s take it back to May 2008

Happy Monday or Tuesday(i don’t know what day it is)!

I’m on my second cup of coffee, toothpicks holding open the eyes… but it is all worth it because at 1 am we wrapped up filming with CW network!

I’m catching up on emails and so excited when I received one from one of my fav people, Tamara Lackey, and her post on an amazing wedding we worked on together in May.

Check out the details on her blog:

This was a fun wedding with fun people but most importantly, Kim, Angelo and I have become great friends!

I Do Idea: Midnight Munchies (Matrimony Style!)

We know that conventional wisdom declares that brides and grooms rarely eat a morsel on their wedding day (For the record, Ivy never allows this to happen. She will barricade a door with her own body to give newlyweds time to chow in private if need be.), but what about the guests? If you’ve done it up right (which, obvi, you will), your guests will be having so much fun dancing, drinking, and talking that suddenly it will be nearly midnight before they realize that they are ravenous! With the long nights most couples are clocking at their fabulous weddings, it has become downright necessary to feed your friends and family once more before you head for the getaway car – but what sort of snack should you serve?

Here are some of Ivy’s favorite suggestions for sending guests home with a satiated spirit (and stomach):

- A Slice of the Local Life… a.k.a. Pizza.

It’s the eternal debate. Everyone thinks that the pizza made where they grew up is the best in the country, so why not share it with the masses? Order a few pies from your favorite local joint or ask your caterer to whip up some bite-size slices that are dance-floor-friendly. Attention New York and Chicago brides: you may now go head to head to see who wins.

- The B&G’s Favorite Junk

The later in the night it gets, the less embarrassing your love for Combos, Cocoa Puffs and/or red hot Cheetos will become. Bust out those guilty pleasure goodies and serve them up in colorful bowls, brightly-hued paper cups or cones, or send guests on the road with a snack pack full of all your childhood (and, okay, adulthood) faves. I’ve got dibs on the Milk Duds and Goldfish.

- Daybreak Delights

Nothing says, “This party is going to go all night” like serving up yummy breakfast-inspired food before the break of dawn. Fresh bagels, English muffins stuffed with eggs and bacon, a pairing of sweet and savory scones – you can’t lose!  Take your pick and serve them  on passed trays to the guests who are still going strong, or send them in personalized paper sacks to go. You may want to include some individually wrapped aspirin for those all-night revelers. Trust us, they will thank you for it in a few hours.

- The One, The Only, The Big Mac

There is no better way to combat the effects of the open bar than with a Big Mac (or a Double Cheeseburger, or a Single with extra pickle - my personal fave). They are hot, tasty, CHEAP (Hello recession ‘09 brides!) and charmingly, comfortingly familiar. Ivy took these meaty treats the extra mile by customizing the wrapper with the bride and groom’s stylish seal. You had no idea a $1 hamburger could be so high class, now did you?

All right, enough with this post. I am starving!  Let the snacking begin!

XOXO,

Zoe

Inspiration Everywhere by Ava our fabulous intern

Traveling across the globe exploring the Seven Wonders of the World is a great way to find inspiration- or you could just take a peak inside a baby’s nursery!

Ivy has traveled throughout Europe and has been inspired by beautiful colors and architecture, but don’t let that fool you. Ivy knows inspiration comes from everywhere! Ivy’s website is just one example of that.

Kristin Morris, a fabulous jewelry designer (one of Ivy’s favorites actually) was pregnant and wanted to be surprised about the sex of the baby. Kristin’s interior designer picked out two fabrics for the baby’s nursery, one for a boy and one for a girl (naturally). Kristin wanted to incorporate the fabric into the baby announcements being made by Aubre Vaughn from Chic Impressions. Ivy saw the fabrics and fell in love with one of the pattern designs. With Aubre’s help, and sister team efforts, Megan Roe graphically built the pattern, turned it yellow, and shipped it off to her sister Jen Barton to build the site….and VOILA! A new website background was born! Kristin ended up with a gorgeous nursery and Ivy with a sassy new website!

Ivy believes you should never limit yourself on where you look for inspiration, it’s all around!
